The end user workshop on “Photonic Solutions for Agricultural and Veterinary Applications” is organized by PhotonicSweden in co-operation with the OASIS project and will take place on 19-20 May in Uppsala, Sweden.

This end-user workshop will be organized together with the National Veterinary Institute and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

This event offers the opportunity to meet potential R&D project partners for the upcoming Call on Photonics Based Sensing 2016. Attending the event you’ll get further information on this transnational call supported and co-funded by the European Commission. The event takes place on the 5th of April 2016 at SPIE Photonics Europe conference at the THE SQUARE - BRUSSELS MEETING CENTRE.
This networking event is organised by the PhotonicSensing consortium in cooperation with Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).    Photonics21 Annnual Meeting 2015 28/05/2015
The Photonics21 Annual Meeting 2015 entitled Photonics solutions for the European society will take place on the 28 & 29 May 2015 at the Le Plaza Hotel in Brussels. The event will be the community event highlighting the new Photonics Public Private Partnership in Europe. This cooperation model fosters photonics research and innovation under Horizon2020 by implementing the Photonics Multiannual Strategic Roadmap. The event will further focus on photonics solutions for the societal challenges of Europe such as energy-efficiency, the secure society and health to strengthen future research and innovation in Europe. Following the plenary session on the 29 May four parallel thematic sessions will focus on following topics:

 Session 2: Photonics for the secure society

 Session 3: Photonics for resource-efficiency and green transport

FOTONICA 2015 is the 17th Italian National Conference on Photonic Technologies. The Conference is the meeting place of the Italian Photonic Community where the most advanced achievements of research in photonics are presented and discussed. The Conference covers all aspects of photonics, with a particular emphasis on applications in several fields, including telecom, sensors, energy saving, lighting and health. The executive committee includes experts in the sector, from both academic/research institutions and industry.

FOTONICA 2015 will be structured in three days of technical sessions which will include review-papers and original contributions relevant to the general Conference themes (presented orally or as posters). There will also be plenary sessions, panels and symposia which will present what is currently the state of the art and consider the future expectations of photonics, including the national and international initiatives under development.

   ICT Key Enabling Technologies at the Service of European Citizens and Cities Photonics – Micro/Nanoelectronics – LED Lighting for Smart Cities 29/10/2014
An European high-level event under the Italian EU Presidency, co-organised by Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), and the European Commission DG CONNECT Photonics is announced to be held on 29 – 30 October 2014 in Rome, Italy.
The aim of the first day is to share practical experiences and ideas about how advanced Photonics and Micro/Nanoelectronics technologies can boost the competitiveness of European industry and deliver innovative solutions to societal challenges. There will be a particular emphasis on the use of these solutions in Smart Cities and Smart Communities.
The second day will focus on sharing experiences and developing strategies for accelerating the large-scale deployment of LED lighting in European cities.

   Photonics driving economic growth in regions 21/10/2014
Photonics21, ERRIN and EPIC, supported by the EU Commission are planning for this joint Photonics Event in Brussels on October 21, Wales Office.

The conference will outline future EU policy on photonics and examine how industrial and regional stakeholders can support photonics and its contribution to economic growth. Regions with photonics as a smart specialisation priority will present their strategies and their implementation actions. These presentations will lead to the panel and participants identifying the future needs of photonics industries.

The workshop will therefore be of particular interest to regional stakeholders involved in policy making, smart specialisation strategies, cluster policies, innovation strategies as well as all levels of the photonics industry. The workshop will be an opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of current policies in photonics, meet potential partners for future photonics projects at the EU level and discuss future funding opportunities for SMEs.
