In tempo di emergenza da COVID-19

Cari Soci,
In questo periodo di difficile emergenza COVID-19 vogliamo fare sentire a voi e ai vostri cari la nostra vicinanza.

È palese la criticità del contesto per la società nel suo complesso, per la nostra economia e anche per gli ambiti formativi a tutti i livelli.

IEEE Photonics Society, insieme a IEEE, è attiva nel pensare a possibili nuove modalità di sostegno e supporto professionale, culturale e formativo per i Soci.

Come IEEE Photonics Society Italy, le nostre attività proseguono. Vi terremo informati sulla riorganizzazione degli eventi in programma e rinnoviamo la nostra disponibilità a supportare iniziative che vogliate segnalare, nell’ambito della nostra missione.

Collaboriamo con la Sezione Italia di IEEE per segnalare notizie di iniziative legate all’emergenza e, attraverso la Sezione, siamo in contatto con l’unità di emergenza che IEEE ha appositamente formato per aiutare operativamente quanti si coinvolgono nella organizzazione di eventi.

IEEE Best PhD Thesis Award 2020

The IEEE Photonics Italy Chapter recognizes distinguished work by young Ph.D. doctors in the field of Applied Photonics (lasers, optical-physics, photonics technologies and devices) through presentation of an Award for the “Best Doctoral Thesis” discussed in an Italian University. The Award consists in an honorarium of 500 Euro and a Certificate.
For the year 2020, one award will be granted.


  • to be a Member of IEEE Photonics Society;
  • to have completed the Doctoral Course in an Italian University in year 2019 or 2020.

ICOP 2020
Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics

The Italian Conference on Optics and Photonics aims to bring together researchers from all over Italy and worldwide, networking and exchanging their research developments in the field of Optics and Photonics, in a stimulating and multidisciplinary forum.
The Conference will establish as a high-level meeting in the areas of Nano and Quantum Sciences, Optical Communication Systems, Optical Imaging and Sensing, Laser and Nonlinear Optics, Applications of Photonic Technology and new Emerging Topics. The program will feature invited lectures, oral and poster sessions and workshops.

The ICOP2020 Conference has been postponed to September 9-11, 2020

ICTON 2020
International Conference on Trasparent Optical Networks

Bari, Italy - July, 19th-23rd 2020 *dates to be confirmed

The scope of the Conference and co-located events is focused on the applications of transparent and all-optical technologies in telecommunications, computing, sensing, and novel fields.

Authors are cordially encouraged to submit the contributions
(recommended length 4 pages in MS Word accompanied by a PDF version) for Regular and Poster Sessions by e-mail to icton@itl.waw.pl by March 31, 2020.

The authors will be notified on the acceptance by April 30th, 2020. Post-deadline papers with hot results can be submitted till June 1st, 2020.
