LE TECNOLOGIE FOTONICHE al servizio del settore dei beni culturali |

 Si è svolto venerdì 1 dicembre 2023, presso il Castello Sforzesco di Milano, il Wokshop LE TECNOLOGIE FOTONICHE al servizio del settore dei beni culturali/Photonics Empowering Cultural Heritage.
L’evento si è svolto nella magnifica cornice storica del Castello Sforzesco di Milano, co-organizzata con Politecnico di Milano, il Castello Sforzesco e con il Patrocinio di ICOM – International Council of Museums e della municipalità di Milano.
Per la durata del pomeriggio, oltre 90 partecipanti, di cui 60 in presenza e i restanti collegati in webinar, si sono confrontati con le possibilità di innovazione introdotte dalla fotonica nell’ nella conservazione e valorizzazione dei beni artistici e storici, nonché nella digitalizzazione di opere ed architetture, dove la gestione dei dati raccolti e la creazione di digital twins rendono più efficaci ed economici gli interventi di manutenzione preventiva e ricostruttiva.
Le aziende presenti e le committenze hanno potuto conoscere la realtà di Photonics21 e il supporto al potenziamento aziendale per tramite della integrazione della fotonica fornito da PhotonHubEurope.

The Hellenic Photonics Cluster (HPhos), the first photonics cluster in Greece, is organising a workshop on "Photonics 4 Manufacturing" within the context of the 1st international exhibition, INDUSTRY.TEC, taking place in Athens, Greece on 24-26 November 2023.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity within the industrial equipment sector to showcase the latest technologies, top-tier services, and essential solutions aimed at modernising and enhancing industrial efficiency. Flanders Food together with Vrije Universiteit Brussel is organising a workshop on 'Photonics4Food' in the framework of 'Industry partnership' of Flanders Food.
An overview of the opportunities to innovate with photonics in the Food sector will be given by top experts. In addition, inspiring testimonials of companies that have made use of photonics to innovate are on the agenda.
The use of new camera techniques, optical sensors and optical systems in combination with AI for food quality, control of food processing and food packaging will be covered.

In the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress that will take place in Barcelona on November 15th, the Spanish Photonics Technology Platform, Fotónica21, organizes the Workshop Photonics 4 Smart Cities. The Workshop will count with interventions of representatives of different companies (both companies with a widely consolidated trajectory as SERVEO, as well as SMEs and start-ups with a promising future), whose activity is directly related to light and photonics technologies, and its application in the field of smart cities. miSW si converte a PHP 7 |

 Da oggi miSW diventa compatibile con la versione 7 di PHP!
E' stata compiuta una diffusa opera di revisione della sintassi dei comandi usati negli script per risovere le eventuali ed inevitabili incompatibilità fra le due versioni del linguaggio di programmazione su cui si basa il CMS.
PHP 5 era il linguaggio utilizzato nel sistema operativo CentOS 7 mentre
PHP 7 è il linguaggio standard nel nuovo sistema operativo Rocky Linux 8 che ha sostituito CentOS 7 nei server di AEIT.

Arwen passa ad un server DELL T340 |

 Dopo quasi 12 anni di encomiabile servizio senza alcun problema il server T310 è stato messo a riposo e sostituito da un potente T340.
La nuova macchina è stata dotata del nuovo sistema operativo Rocky Linux 8 e il suo avviamento si è svolto senza particolari problemi.
Durante la fase "di rodaggio" sono stati individuati e risolti alcuni problemi dovuti alla nuova sintassi di alcune istruzioni che sono stati segnalati dagli Utenti.
Al nuovo server tutti i migliori auguri di felice e indisturbato servizio per un tempo ancora maggiore rispetto a quello del suo predecessore.

EPHJ - The World of High Precision |

La manifestazione fieristica più importante della Svizzera, giunta ormai al suo 20°anniversario, si terrà quest’anno dal 14 al 17 giugno presso il Palexpo di Ginevra e si prepara ad accogliere ancora più partecipanti rispetto allo scorso settembre 2021. Quest'anno l'evento sarà dedicato all'innovazione, al mondo del lavoro, alle imprese e ai giovani. EPHJ presenterà i risultati dell'indagine condotta sei anni fa in tutta la Svizzera tra i giovani di età compresa tra i 16 e i 25 anni per analizzare la loro posizione nei confronti del settore degli orologi, le loro aspettative e la loro marca preferita. AEIT ha scelto il nuovo Sistema Operativo per i suoi server |

 Da CentOS 7 si passa a Rocky Linux 8.4!!!
La decisione di IBM di trasformare il sistema operativo CentOS in una rolling-version di Red Hat ha spinto AEIT a decidere la sostituzione del sistema operativo di tutti i suoi server con il nuovo Rocky Linux 8.4.
Bisogna subito dire che il nome del nuovo SO, che potrebbe apparire troppo fantasioso, è in realtà un omaggio che il responsabile del progetto, Gregory Kurtzer (che fu uno dei fondatori del progetto CentOS), ha voluto dedicare all'amico Rocky McGaugh, co-fondatore di CentOS, prematuramente scomparso.
Le premesse di Rocky Linux sono decisamente interessanti ed al progetto hanno già dato il loro appoggio nomi di primo piano come Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.
AEIT ha deciso di sperimentare Rocky Linux 8.4 con la intenzione di installarlo su tutti i suoi server.

miSW diventa multi-plugin |

 Con la sua Release 7 miSW taglia un nuovo traguardo e diventa "multi-plugin".
Lo sviluppo della architettura modulare che ha avuto inizio con la Rel. 5 si è sviluppata in un modo difficilmente immaginabile all'inizio dello scorso anno ed oggi, dopo circa 15 mesi di lavoro, ha portato a questo importante risultato.

Nuovo sito miSW per la rivista L'Energia Elettrica |

 La rivista L'Energia Elettrica si è dotata di un sito web basato su miSW.
Il sito, che è ospitato da un server Apache 2.4, è del tipo "virtuale" e condivide il suo IP con altri siti web, con evidenti vantaggi in termini di costo del servizio.
Il nuovo sito ha inglobato il precedente sito sviluppato per il supplemento OpenAccess della rivista.
