AEIT is a cultural association based on Societies active in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications and related technologies.AEIT was formed on 1 January 1897 with the original name of "AEI - Italian Electrical Association" and is one of the oldest and well-known cultural associations.
In 2004 the Italian Association of Telecommunications Engineers (AIIT), founded in 1962 and adhering to the European Association FITCE (Federation of Telecommunication Engineers of the European Community)., joined 'AEIT.
AEIT main goal is to promote and support:
- science and technology development in the fields of electronic, automation, ICT and telecommunications;
- application development in related fields with focus on future trends;
- members professional development;
- institutional relations with universities, schools, industries , agencies.
AEIT also supports young researchers and students, active in the related fields or joining them, and contributes to:
- Address technical training towards employment proposals and expectations in the industrial segments of interest of AEIT;
- Support professional development.
AEIT ambition is to contribute to:
- increase levels of innovation and quality in the sector of interest for the benefit of the National Community;
- raise awareness of the Institutions in the sectors of interest of AEIT, thereby increasing Institution decision effectiveness.
Mission
AEIT achieves its social goals through following activities.
R&D support, know-how dissemination and application of innovation
- Magazines and monographs on topical issues and on major technical developments in the areas of AEIT interest;
- Conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings, visits and educational trips, mainly targeted to professional training;
- Exchange of information and opinions among specialists on major topical issues in the areas of interest;
- Supports of internal and external communication through effective web systems;
- collaboration with universities, schools, industries, institutions, research centers, national and international associations (AICA, EUREL, INFORAV etc.) to Increase members knowledge and skills on new technology frontiers;
- promotion of links with universities, school institutions and industries to support young people training and career development, targeting their employment in the areas of interest of AEIT;
- prizes and scholarships awards;
- Surveys on new technologies and new technical regulations, on engineering systems quality level and on quality level of young students/researchers technical training.
Institutional Relations and External Communication
- AEIT interacts with Ministries and Authorities, mostly in relation to innovation, law evolution and regulations in the sectors of reference, for the benefit of the national community;
- AEIT attends with significant presence to debates at national and international level on issues regarding electrical engineering, information technology and telecommunications;
- AEIT collaborates on standardization with the CEI (Italian Electro-technical Committee).
